Volvo hosted a themed "Power of 40" Women`s Breakfast

Johannesburg - In celebration of VOLVO XC40's supreme win as the 2018 Women's World Car of The Year, VOLVO hosted a themed 'Power of 40" Women's breakfast at the Munroe Boutique Hotel in the heart of Johannesburg.

VOLVO Power of 40 Women's breakfast was the first official media and influencer event of 2019, which boasted a guest list of South Africa's most celebrated women in entertainment and media. Some of the Women in attendance were actress Jessica Nkosi, Idols Judge and Presenter Unathi Msengana , Moja Love's Abigail Visagie, Metro FM's Mpho Letsholonyane and Ingluencer Olwethu Leshabane.

The VOLVO XC40 was judged by a panel  of motoring writers from 28 countries across the globe. The voting system considered , market trends, safety features, innovation and technology which saw the VOLVO XC40 coming out on top as the winner of the 2018 Women's Car of the Year.

"We have seen a rise of female car purchasers world wide and its an honor to have the XC40 recognized and celebrated as a preferred car by - and for women. The "Power of 40" themed breakfast was the beginning of a series of celebrations that will continue throughout the year and will be extemded to our everyday female customers as we continue to acknowledge and celebrate this win." says Volvo Cars SA Head of Marketing and Communications, Charmagne Mavudzi.

The Women's World Car of The Year is not the first of its accolades. The subcompact luxury crossover vehicle has won a number of awards including European Car of the Year, Carsales Car of the Year 2018 and was recently named a finalist in the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards 2019.

"It is exciting to witness the evolution of our cars on a global scales and we look forward to continue to grow the brand in South Africa" adds Mavudzi.
