Intercare Launches Physical Rehabilitation Hospital in Cape Town

Cape Town, South Africa— Intercare, in partnership with the Sports Science Institute of South Africa (SSISA), is proud to announce the opening of the Intercare Newlands Physical Rehabilitation Hospital. This partnership sets a new benchmark for integrated physical rehabilitation care in South Africa. Located on the fifth floor of the SSISA complex in Newlands, the hospital is now open to the public.

This collaboration combines Intercare’s extensive healthcare network and SSISA’s legacy of scientific excellence and human performance innovation. The result is a purpose-designed facility offering acute and sub-acute physical rehabilitation services that are clinically robust and functionally meaningful.

The Intercare Newlands Physical Rehabilitation Hospital offers a comprehensive, encompassing approach to rehabilitation. Patients benefit from an inter-disciplinary care team, including a resident doctor, case manager, social worker, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists and dietitians. In addition, radiology and pathology services are also available, all under one roof.

Personalised expert physical rehabilitation plans are designed for each patient, ensuring maximum functionality and recovery. Extended family visiting hours further enhance the recovery process.
