You would never expect it here in Parktown, in this old established suburb for the Randlords of the 1900, with leafy avenues and a serene atmosphere with large mansions, but nestled amongst these gracious old Victorian homes with immaculate architecture and stone walls, you might just be stirred by the faint sound of music and the new recording home of Satori Music South Africa.

It is not just a recording studio, it’s a complete music production house. It offers high-quality production services, cutting edge recording technology and expert guidance for established and aspiring artists.

Satori Music South Africa's studios is the brainchild of the band SATORI South Africa, who are looking at expanding their growing enterprise in the music industry through training, education of both aspiring and veteran artists to ensure constant continuous professional career development.

Satori South Africa, Director and band member Ashley Alley says, “We know that there is a myriad of recording studios in Johannesburg, but what we are doing is to essentially give back, nurture and build the talent that we currently have in South Africa. These are artists that are not fully developed yet, that we can assist to grow. Our goal is to provide the resources for artists to succeed as professional musicians in a growing and evolving entertainment environment. Through our recording studios and our own record label we will endeavor to make their dreams a reality”.

The studios of Satori Music South Africa boast full recording capabilities, which includes cutting-edge technology such as a Yamaha TF3 |24 control console, 27-inch editing screens, Yamaha 8″ high definition studio monitors, Logic X software, Sennheiser and Shure microphones with a variety of instruments and gear.

In short, the technology at Satori Music studios can deliver world class audio production that would be comparable to international standards

These high-tech recording facilities are everything that any seasoned or young developing artists would need to craft their skill and create awe inspiring music.

“Our music recording services are tailor-made for each individual artists. We work with different genres, afro jazz, rock, pop, dance, folk, jazz, R&B and even gospel.  Our objective is to work with any artist towards the attainment of their ideal sound through our digital Recording, Mixing, Editing and Mastering services. This process is supplementary to complete track production including writing, arranging, band tracking tuning, overdubs supplying session musicians, and vocal production” says lead guitarist and the driver of talent in the studios Erol Ally. He is a seasoned session musician and the brother of Ashley.

The lead singer in the band Zara Ally emphasized that the Mastering services, which is the last and indispensable step in the making of the disk, assures the highest audio quality of the mixed tracks enhancing dynamics, volumes, stereophony and frequency contents. As a singer she says, “If the mastering process is not in sync you might as well abandon the entire project as it will not give you that final quality to the end product, which is your song”.

During the mastering phase the sound obtained during the mixing is further characterized and customized to assure a perfect reproduction. On closer inspection of the studio, one would observe attention to detail which contain treated isolation rooms for pollution-proof, pure and unadulterated sound recording.

Satori Music South Africa aims to build and develop artists.  They also strive to be leaders in the independent record industry which will provide musicians of all levels, with the greatest opportunity for success. They will also provide artists with access to graphic design firms, T-shirt makers and album designers to help build the artist or band’s logo, artwork and recognition.

“Whether you want to hang out for an hour or a whole day, our live rooms are comfortable and conducive to creativity as we want artists to explore and not have limitations on time or budgets. We have created a safe creative space for artists to dream big and create that delectable artform called music”, concludes Director and band leader Ashley Ally.

The launch date of Satori Studios will be announced in due course.
