Taking place this Saturday, 13 March 2021, this interactive four-course dinner with wine pairings is designed to provide guests with a look into different cooking methods from around the world, while bringing it back to our shores with a South African twist. Throughout the evening, guests will be entertained not only by the impressive culinary skills, honed by none other than rockstar chef Matt Manning, but with a thorough delivery by Tiisetso on his thought process behind the creation of dishes.

Hailing from Polokwane, Tiisetso’s love for food stemmed from his mom's cooking and ‘too much Jamie Oliver on the TV screen’. After obtaining his internationally acclaimed certificate from City & Guilds at Capsicum Culinary Studios, he went on to work in some of South Africa’s best kitchens, including Mondiall Kitchen and Bar, Thali, Chefs Warehouse on Bree Street and as Head Chef at Unfiltered. In 2020, he settled as a private chef in Cape Town, bringing his guests unique, exciting flavours at events or in the comfort of their own homes. Besides Food As We Know It, he is also known for the popular Brunch’d series, hosted at the Silo District’s Si Cantina Sociale.

“My vision with this series is to bring delicious, world-class meals to people, while showing them that South African flavours can also play on this scale,” says Tiisetso Sebola. “I find it exciting that we can enjoy ‘fancy’ European dishes and bring in our well-loved flavours like atchaar, bay leaves and crispy chicken.”

Dishes that guests can look forward to include the Italian favourite, arancini, but with a local twist of atchaar aioli; pan-fried hake with spinach puree and bacon; and lemon and bay leaf tart. Is your mouth watering yet? Limited seats are available for this Saturday at 18:00, and can be booked on The Chef’s Studio’s website.
