Henley Africa to award a record R2m worth of scholarships in 2018

Henley Business School - Africa (Henley Africa) is delighted to announce the awarding of R2-million worth of scholarships for the 2018 academic year.

A total of 27 scholarships are being awarded to candidates that meet the requirements of its MBA, Post Graduate Diploma in Management Practice (PGDip) and Advanced Certificate in Management Practice (ACMP) programmes.
 
Henley Africa will be awarding seven full scholarships for its Flexible Learning MBA as well as six 80% scholarships and six half scholarships. It will also award three full scholarships and three half scholarships for its PGDip and one full scholarship and one half scholarship for its ACMP programme. 


Jonathan Foster-Pedley, Dean and Director of Henley Africa, says the awarding of scholarships is one of the many ways Henley Africa believes it can contribute to the growth and prosperity of South Africa. “By awarding scholarships to deserving candidates who otherwise may not have an opportunity to further their potential, we believe we can provide them with the tools they need to make an even bigger difference in the industries and communities in which they serve for the betterment of South Africa.”


Among the full MBA scholarships to be awarded are the Dean’s Scholarship (two), the African Hero Scholarship (two), the Johnny Clegg Scholarship, the Music and Creative Industries Scholarship and the Academic Excellence Scholarship. 


All the full MBA scholarships are valued at R249 500 and cover the full fees of the Henley Flexible Learning MBA in South Africa. 

The Dean’s Scholarship is open only to previously disadvantaged South Africans who can demonstrate leadership qualities.

The African Hero Scholarship will be awarded to suitably qualified candidates who have shown their commitment to building a fair, inclusive, prosperous and thriving South Africa, who have dedicated themselves to nation building and are inspiring other South African to join together to build a better future for all South Africans.

The Johnny Clegg scholarship will be awarded to a deserving applicant to study towards an MBA in the Music and Creative Industries. The successful applicant will have demonstrated a commitment to the creative industries and show a keen understanding of the critical intersection between creativity and business savvy. 

 

The Music and Creative Industries Scholarship is open any person in the music or creative industries who meets the admission requirements of the Henley Flexible Learning MBA programme and who can show the contribution they have made to the music and/or creative industries. 

 

The successful candidate for the Academic Excellence Scholarship will have provided evidence of excellent academic achievement, demonstrated leadership qualities and will have shown how he/she will use the knowledge gained from the Henley MBA to impact his/her community, society or workplace positively.
